Trial Boarding
Overview
Our Structured Settling & Assessment Stay is designed for dogs who are new to kennel boarding, have shown anxiety in the past, or are booked for longer or peak-period stays.
Any dog, that the owner is worried may be difficult to handle, should consider this program.
This program allows dogs sufficient time to settle, build trust with staff, adjust to kennel routines, and be properly assessed for suitability in a kennel environment.
This is a structured assessment program, not a short trial stay.
Duration: 3 full calendar days / 2 nights

Drop-off: Tuesday before 10:00am

Pick-up: Thursday between 2:00pm and 5:30pm (later is better)
Assessment stays are conducted Tuesday to Thursday only and are not available on weekends.

Why this minimum 3 day / 2 nights schedule?
This structure allows your dog to:
Experience three full operational days in our care.
Settle beyond the initial stressful drop off period.
Be observed across multiple staff shifts.
If handling is possible, participate in a structured mid-stay walk (Wednesday).
Adjust to feeding routines and handling.
Be assessed in a low-transition, weekday environment.
Weekday scheduling also ensures owners are readily contactable should early collection be required.
What we assess
During the stay we assess:
Appetite and feeding behaviour
Ability to settle overnight
Stress and anxiety indicators
Interaction with staff
Handling tolerance
Walking behaviour
Overall suitability for kennel boarding, especially for long stays and peak periods.
A short-written summary will be provided following the stay. This report can be used at other kennels if needed.
Why Midweek only?
This schedule allows your dog to:
Experience a full weekday kennel routine
Be observed by multiple staff across shifts
Participate in a structured mid-stay walk (Wednesday)
Settle without the higher stimulation of weekends
Week days are generally quieter, giving staff more time to observe new dogs
Weekday scheduling also ensures owners are readily contactable should any concerns arise.

Original Kennels
Under 12kg, $51 per calendar day
+ Wednesday walk = $20
+ Report card = $25
If 2 dogs, 2 walks $40, 2 report cards still $25 (for both).
Over 12kg and up to and including 40kg $56 per calendar day
+ Wednesday walk = $20
+ Report card = $25
If 2 dogs, 2 walks $40, 2 report cards still $25 (for both).
Over 40kg, $59 per calendar day
+ Wednesday walk = $20
+ Report card = $25
If 2 dogs, 2 walks $40, 2 report cards still $25 (for both).
