Terms & Conditions

Vaccination

All dogs require proof of vaccination. A certificate must be uploaded prior to arrival and shown on check in indicating that a minimum C5 immunization has been administered within the last 12 months and not less than 7 days prior to boarding and must be sighted by Royal Rover Staff members.

Royal Rover retains the right to contact your dogs treating vet for any medical reason whatsoever. This includes contacting your vet for current vaccination details before an upcoming boarding stay.

Veterinary Attention

If veterinary attention is required, the owner is liable for all expenses, including in the event of serious illness or injury. Every effort will be made to contact the owner but where the owner cannot be contacted, the veterinary surgeons decision will be final. A fee of $40 applies for Royal Rover to take your dog to the vet. This is payable in addition to the vet bill.

Flea & Tick Treatment

All dogs must be treated for fleas/ticks in the presence of Royal Rover staff prior to proceeding through to the kennels. For extended stays dogs will be treated with either Frontline or Advantix at the owner’s expense. Your dog needs and deserves every protection from fleas in a boarding environment.

Older dogs

If your dog is elderly, or has a known medical condition, please check with our office that any extra care is something we can manage. For example, we will take: stable diabetics, dogs on heart medication, dogs on antibiotics etc. However, a dog should be “Fit to Board”.

If your dog:

  • requires lifting to standing position and help to walk;
  • requires support to squat and toilet; or
  • regularly messes itself because human intervention hasn’t been available when it “Needs to go.”

This is “Palliative Care” or “End of Life Support.” As much as we care, this is not a service that we offer. We do not believe we can offer such a dog “Quality Time” whilst it is boarding with us.

We retain the right to refuse a dog that we believe requires Palliative or End of Life Care.

Aggresive Dogs

If any dog, for any reason, shows enough aggression to cause deliberate injury to any person during it’s stay. The owner will be liable for any extra cost incurred, be it: Ambulance, Medical, Rehabilitation, workers compensation excess.

If such a dog requires upgraded accommodation or specialist handling in order to keep all Royal Rover Staff and any person on property safe, the dog’s owner will be responsible for all extra costs incurred.

Non Collection

We will always attempt to contact the owner in the event of an animal not being collected within 14 days of the nominated departure date, however, if the owner cannot be contacted, the animal can be sold or re-homed at Royal Rover’s discretion. All monies owing, including fees and costs relating to disposal, shall be payable by the owner forthwith after receipt of Royal Rover’s advice as to the amount thereof. If the costs are not paid as provided above, legal proceedings will be instigated without further notice.

Payment

All boarding fees must be paid for in advance. Special arrangements can be made with Royal Rover for dogs boarding for periods longer than 30 days, or under special circumstances by PRIOR ARRANGEMENT.

The fully booked period will be charged.

Boarding rates are charged per calendar day.

Right of Refusal

Royal Rover reserves the right to refuse any animal’s stay and no reason needs to be given.

Care

All care shall be afforded to our guests but Royal Rover shall not be held responsible for any damage or injuries caused to any of the animals staying at our kennels other than as a result of willful or negligent acts or omissions by Royal Rover or its employees.

Minimum Stay Periods

During the Christmas Period a ten day minimum applies.
During the Easter Period a seven day minimum applies.
